- Q) What is a PayPal Business account?
A) Business accounts are for members who will have a high transaction volume and need to accept credit card payments.
If you have a PayPal account and want to know if it is a Personal or Business account, click HERE and we will show you what a business account looks like. - Q) How do you sign up for a PayPal Business account? There are basically 3 different ways depending if you already have a personal account or not.
A1) Talk to a PayPal employee by phone - USA in Motion has established a direct contact (REAL PERSON) to help you with signing up for a PayPal account over the phone.

A2) Upgrade your personal account Online - If you already have a personal PayPal account, you can UPGRADE HERE.
Click the Upgrade Now button at the bottom of the UPGRADE web page after typing in your business information and Tax ID number.
The next PayPal page will ask you how you want to process credit cards. Please pick "On your Website".
The next question will ask you how do you want to process credit cards. Please pick "Process all payments, including debit and credit cards, through PayPal".
When asked what integrated options you wish to choose, there is nothing further to do at this point. Please eMail your Business Account email address to us (USA in Motion) and we integrate your PayPal Business account into our Online Registration Serve software.
A3) Create a new business account Online - If you DO NOT currently have a PayPal account, you can SIGNUP HERE.
The first PayPal page will verify that your eMail address is not in use with a different PayPal account, and ask you to create a password.
The next page will ask you to fill in your business information and Tax ID number.
The next PayPal page will ask you how you want to process credit cards. Please pick "On your Website".

Step #1
The Athlete / event goer arrives at the USA and Motion Registration Services online page and sees the same and very familiar web page that they have been used to seeing over the last 10 years. They fill out the form as usual. At the bottom of the page, they can add any additional runners that there might be, OR simply press the PayPal Checkout button at the bottom of the page.
Step #2
After pressing the PayPal Checkout button on the USA in Motion Registration Services web page, the athlete arrives at the first PayPal payment page which basically gives them two options. The athlete can log into their existing PayPal account and make a payment from their PayPal wallet. Or, they can press the Pay with Debit or Credit Card button to check out as a guest by just paying with a debit or credit card.
Step #3
Assuming the athlete pressed the Pay with Debit or Credit Card button to check out as a guest by just paying with a debit or credit card, this next screenshot example shows a SECURE, and familiar PayPal Guest Checkout web page that the world is used to seeing on many other websites. The athlete simply fills out the credit card billing information and presses a button at the bottom of the page (not shown) to submit their payment.
Step #4 (Final step)
Assuming the credit card transaction is successfully completed, the athlete is passed back to the USA in Motion Registration Services website where a 'Successful payment and Thank you" page is shown. The athlete is now registered in the runner database for the event. The athlete will also receive a payment receipt sent from PayPal showing the payment for the registration.
If a particular race event uses the USA and Motion Ticket Solutions bar code ticketing system, the athlete will also receive a separate email with a bar code on it that the athlete can use if they pick up their packets in any advance packet pickup locations.
Step #5 (Real Time Payments)
As soon as an Online Registration is sold, the race /event director has the option to receive an email message regarding the transaction. As the image here shows, the race / event director can log into their PayPal account and view the transactions as they are coming in REAL TIME.
The race/event director can immediately use the money in the PayPal account to purchase, shirts, medals, etc. right from their PayPal account or simply initiate a bank transfer of the funds from the PayPal account to the VERIFIED race / event directors U.S. bank account.
If the race director wishes to leave their funds in their PayPal account rather than transfer them to their own VERIFIED bank account, there are several ways to spend the money in your PayPal account. Some race / event directors may choose to leave some of their funds in their PayPal account and also transfer funds to their U.S. bank account.
